Anyone with this accessory?
I ran across this on ebay, the seller says it's an NOS accessory step for 60-72 chevy,GMC, fleetside trucks 10-30 series. I have never seen one of these, does anyone have this installed on their truck, or have pics of it?

Re: Anyone with this accessory?
They were in the accessory program, but available else where and generic.I bought some from Dick Cepek back in`77 for a Dodge I had.As far as n.o.s. goes,he`d have to prove it.It`s not like an oldone couldn`t be made to look new.I definately wouldn`t pay more based on it being n.o.s. unless he had some way to prove it,like a package or reciept proving that he bought it.

Re: Anyone with this accessory?
My short Grandfather talked my Dad into them for his 76 to get into the toolbox. I was a Go-fer for most of my childhood, so it helped me reach for tools too. I liked them then, but I wouldn't cut my truck for them now. I'll just tell my son to get a stool or I'll get it myself.

Re: Anyone with this accessory?
For someone with a "working truck" and short stature, it might be a real boon.
. I've been casually looking for this very thing. I've added buddy's and tilt to my truck to make it "fit" me and disc for safety...why not add a great way of getting to cargo without the hassle of "bellying-up"? . ...As far as cutting my bed, I'll always modify for an option I like and can use. I've had my truck a decade now and have no intention of selling so why not...it's mine...it's me. . By the way...didn't know there was a "GM" lettered version...would love to find a pair. ET

Re: Anyone with this accessory?
They were made because they make alot of sense. They make it possible to acess your bed, other than climbing in the back and trying to get over all the cargo in the bed.Afterall, these are trucks, remember.I agree, now that these trucks are classic it would be foolish to cut a bedside for these, tank doors, and cargo hooks. But,that`s what they did when the trucks were being used.Afterall, alot of guys were used to Stepsides and going to a Fleetside looked nice, but had it`accessability limitations. It`s no worse than what guys are doing today:adding Blazer tanks and cutting-in filler doors, filling stake pocket holes, filling marker holes, chopping up floors for air-rid,etc...
It`s a truck thing.If I have to explain,you wouldn`t understand.

Re: Anyone with this accessory?
It's a pretty functional add-on, I can definetely see the advantage of having them if you a short in stature. I think I would have let my dealer install these back in the day, than to hack in straight, clean, sheetmetal myself.
