I've seen someone do this and they had some pictures telling about the supplies needed and tools needed. I know that you've got to cut holes through the cross member but not sure on the size and not sure how to add strength at the cross member. I'm going with 2 1/2 inch exhaust pipe, I'm running long headers, along with 50 series Flowmasters.

I`m not sure what you mean,exactly.I first saw your title and thought,"Is there another way?"I thought you meant between the frame rails like the factory even does it.But,you asked about the crossmember and I think you just mean that.I`d get some 3 or 4 inch tube/pipe and cut the holes for those to fit in.Then,weld them in place.

This is what I'm gonna do. I plan to use a 5" holesaw and 5" od 1/4" wall tubing. The trick to using the holesaw is that you need to weld in a piece of scrap across the V-shaped factory gap for the guide-bit. Otherwise there's nothing to keep the saw in place while cutting.
