monster CJ7

This belongs to my neighbor and i thought you 4x4 guys might enjoy looking at it. it's a CJ7, 2 1/2 ton rockwells, fuel injected 350, SM465, NP205, hydraulic ram steering, coilover suspension, it was built strictly as a crawler and was all owner built. it's a beast.

Re: monster CJ7

Doesn't even looked used yet.

Take it out, beat on it, tell us how it did, then we'll be impressed.

What size tires on those rocks?
What gears in the diff's?

Is it running a doubler set up?

If not, it's still just a mall crawler.

6.72, just like every other 2 1/2 ton Rockwell ever produced. there is no other gear ratio.

Re: monster CJ7

it's been over the rubicon a few times. the tires are 44s and the gears are 6:72s with lockers front and rear. with the axle ratio, low range and low first gear in the transmission he says he has no need for a doubler yet. if he jumps up to 53 inch michlens he'll go to the doubler setup then.

Talking Re: monster CJ7

Sorry, no cummins in the jeep, it has a fuel injected 350. the hitch cover is from his tow vehicle. he just brought it back from the rubicon today and he said it worked great, again.

Re: monster CJ7

They should sell "I Survived Rubicon" bumper stickers,or do they?I guess most around the country may take that to mean they got their new Jeep paid off,now that they stole the name for their semi-tough off the lot specials.

Re: monster CJ7

Stock Rubicons run the Rubicon nowadays, it's not the trail it once was.

Re: monster CJ7

i've never been over the trail myself but i've heard there are multiple ways to go with some ways being worse than others. the one bumper sticker i saw that i thought was funny, "if you can read this, flip me over" and everything was upside down.
