Blower motor

The support bushings in my blower motor were just about shot to hell. It was squeeling and making a general nuisance so I shopped around and found a replacement fan motor from the Car and Truck Shop. Price was about half what everyone else wanted for one so I orderded one up . Total with shipping was $34. It came in today after 4 days. I opened the package and fully expected to see a generic chinese made piece of crap for that much. Surprise !!! It is a genuine partsmaster made in Canada fan motor just like the local parts store wanted $92 for.

They have my business from now on!

Ther are 2 types of blower motors....

Heater only - 6.25 amps 2550 min. R.P.M

Heater/Air conditioner - 16.5 amps 3700 min. RPM

As you can see; the blower motor used with air conditioning is considerably more powerful, ...... ( They are physically and electrically intercahngeable...............Jim

Oh well...at least it'll have hot air in it.

Their catalog is excellent. They have everything. Most stuff is cheaper by a lot. Some is about the same . Some is a little more but thats why I shop around. I ordered it on the phone and it was at my house 3 days later! Since everyone is carrying the same chinese made parts these days it doesnt pay not to shop around. Going by the pricing in their catalog I would have saved a few hundred dollars if I had known about them 6 months ago when I started my current project.

Doesn't the A/C trucks have a blower relay? I coulda sworn my blue Longhorn had one....
If so, that blower is probably why...pullin too many amps from the dash harness.
Something to think about if I am right and you are thinking of this upgrade.

mikep is right, they have a ton of stock. NOS and aftermarket. Their prices are great on most items.

AC trucks do have a blower relay and a resistor in the air box to step down for low fan speed. Its in the air box so it gets cooled by the air running through there . Otherwise it would burn up pretty quick. The relay is $10 or so.

That is a pretty good price. I had to go check, and I stock and sell that same Canadian made motor for just a couple dollars less than they do, if you count the shipping costs. It saves my customers a couple bucks and they don't have to send their money "out-of-state" to pay someone else's wages. I won't ship it , though, so you probably did just fine! I pay the shipping to get it here, so my folks can drive up & shop.

OK. Got a challenge for you then .In 2003 I am going to be getting my AC running on R134A . I'm missing a few parts, others are broken and all my seals need switching over so keeping in mind I am looking for new or rebuilt parts compatible with R134a....

I need...

1. a rebuilt 134a compatible compressor

2. an air selector duct "S" phlenum

3. an air selector duct assy.

4. An A/C POA valve

5. A new condensor

6. A new receiver/drier

7. A/C Oring /seal kit

8. a A/C metal line kit

9. AC suction and discharge hoses

10. an A/C vacuuum canister

11. An A/c water valve

12. An A/C liquid hose.

I know their pricing. what can you get me that stuff for ? Looking around March time frame.

Ouch! John, I can't beat that one...$14...that's why it is smart to shop around locally before sending your money away. I beat Shucks & NAPA , but didn't check Carquest. They are usually higher, but I guess not always. You didn't buy at some super dealer/business discount, did you?
12/23/02--Our Carquest wants $24.64 for the motor.
