I had one - I sold it to HotRodTodd this past Spring.

They are pretty rare, especially the 67/68 trucks

I don't think they made them past '70...could be wrong, though.

What is rare is an original 4x4 panel...

im not sure what year it was... but my grandpa had one in the 60's for his carpentry business

i know it was a 4x4, it was white and it had a little window where the third door would have been if it were a burb

Re: how rare is a panel truck?

I've got 2.A 67 and a 68.I've owned 4 of this era trucks and have never owned a Pick-up,Blazer, or Suburban. Most panels, and there were few since GM wanted to push the vans, were sold to companies who used them for service or delivery trucks. Most were used upby non-owner operators.I saw 2 in OK about 15 years ago and they were for sale, unfortunately(or maybe fortunately)it was Sunday and I never got a chance to go back.Other than those 2 I have owned every other Panel (67-70)I have seen.I did see one last year but for $7500 and the paint was so fresh it was still offgassing,I did not try to buy it(I do like sleeping indoors),but it was at the Charlotte Auto Fair.It was also a 4X4 but I did not document it though it had a K VIN.With the paint on that oone so fresh I thought it might be a quickie make over rust queen set to sell at the feeding frenzy.

Re: how rare is a panel truck?

i know theres got to be some old school pics of my grandpas 4x4 panel... my dad told me earlier today hes pretty sure it was a 68, and it was definately an original 4x4 he traded in the 57 nomad he bought new for it. my dad also told me they ended up trading the panel in for a brand new 72 camaro (my dads first car) then after that my grandpa got a gmc "handy van" for his work vehicle

Re: how rare is a panel truck?

Even rarer as a 71-72 4wd Panel
If the panel is a 4wd,save it even if it's in bad shape.30 4wds made in 67 in 1/2 ton,8 in 3/4 ton,59 1/2 ton 4wd panels in 68,and 68 3/4 ton 4wd panels in 68...

Re: how rare is a panel truck?

As best as I can recall, I've never actually seen one in person.

I've also seen very few 'burbs as well.
