I ended up picking mine up in susanville CA and on the way to it spotted about 3 more along the road. They are all over out here, and most of the "local" trucks have very little rust. I found mine in the local deals & wheels catalog, at that time there were 5 others under $1500, most were in "decent" shape.
hey thanks for the leads! it seems there are cabs out there and a lot of the feedback here is to replace the cab rather than compromise the integrity of the cab by welding a new roof on it. I'm not a body guy but I'm not sure the damage justify's replacing the cab. I'm sure it would probably be cheaper in the long run to repalce it with me doing the work but I havent got any actual $$ estimates yet. all I want to do at this point is get it sealed back up before it starts raining. If I were to go the route of replacing the cab it would be in my driveway and would take me who knows how long to get it done, not to mention probably pissing off my neighbors. ( volunteers for a cab raising?)

Hey Gary. From what I can tell by the pics I think a cab replacement may be the better fix. The cab may be bent in the floor and cab mount areas and windshield A pillar. Door alignment depends on a square cab. Nothing that can't be fixed. Just takes money.
Maybe you can rent a portapower to push that roof back up into close proximity enough to tape around the openings to help keep the water out. A bit of visqueen and tape should keep the weather out.
