2 6x9 boxes vs 1 10'' box
I have a pioneer head-unit and a sony x-plod 1000w amp. The 4 factory speakers have been upgraded to pioneer speakers. The headunit is in, the amp is working and all I had in the garage was some cheap walmart 6'' basebox or something... so yea I need to get rid of that. I was thinking either 2 6x9 speaker boxes behind the seat or 1 10'' sub. Which would be the best to go with? I listen to rock so I do actually want to hear vocals and not thump-thud-thump rap lol.

My personal preference leads me to suggest the 10" sub, and with the 1000watt amp already available, it's the logical choice.

Re: 2 6x9 boxes vs 1 10'' box
I would (and am going to) do both. You can run the 6x9's in the cab corners and the 10" in the center.
6x9's have some thump behind them, but you will really like the sub sound with rock. Bass makes almost everything sound better! I especially enjoy listening to classical music and jazz with a sub on.

I was going to say both and throw the 6x9's in the corners and the 10" sub in the middle or just go with the 10" sub. It will sound good.
