On my truck the holes in the hood are bigger than the studs in the emblems. Therefore, if you loosen the nut, you can move the emblem around until the letter is "square" and then retighten the nut.

If you pay no attention when you mount the letters, they will usually end up crookwards.

I tried to adjust mine when I put them back on, but I figured that is the just the way they're supposed to be.

What looks like a scratch is the reflection of the lightpost.
