1968 swb 4x4 project truck need to sell asap!(CHEAP)

i bought this off e-bay and it was a little rougher than i was expecting i would still fix it but the city code enforcement office tripped across my stash and i only have 3 stalls open in my shop so some of my projects have to go! 1968 swb K-1500 factory V-6 305 the motor is still there and last time i checked still would turn over the cab+ front end are pretty much toast.the frame is busted at the steering box, but i have the front frame section off a 72 blazer with the v-8 engine crossmember, matching front+rearends, power steering box, that i would let go with it or i would just sell the 68 for $400 and the blazer stuff for $200 more i also have a couple swb beds (1 step 2 fleets)that i would get rid of but i will only sell the fleet beds with the truck or after the truck sells some trades considered I,m always looking for 3/4 4x4 stuff and i need a sm465/205 setup as well thanks Mike

is that a 68 frame you have for a short bed C 10 chevy ? I am in need of a frame but not sure if I can move on it fast enough. Is the frame worth a damn? Looks nasty in the pics. Just joined this site this year and as a paying member today via paypal

Dustin no transmission/transfer case or drive shafts. I have a good friend that has family up that way somewhere and he told me today that he was considering heading up there for labor day so delivery may could be arranged it would be sweet if you could round me up a 465/205 combo that he could pick up when he drops off the 68 but like i said his trip is just in the planning stages as of right now. would you want the extra front+rear and frame section or just the 68? i doubt that i'll be getting the 3/4 4x4 from troy built unless my luck changes in the near future thanks mike

Re: 1968 swb 4x4 project truck need to sell asap!(CHEAP)

I've got a extra sm465/rockwell that would go in this...just would have to get driveshafts..It would be a sweet little gmc with a small lift and 33s...How much extra for the beds?
What ratio are in the axles? I might be interested in the front,if any of the two.I could use the v8 x-member too.The 4wd P.S. box..I think some scrap 2wd frame would be able to fix the bad parts on this one..My cousin has a wrecked swb 4wd.Its a mid 70s though, not a 67-72.It has a 465/205 and they should go right in a 67-72.I'll talk to him about selling me the tranny/t-case from it.I've got more parts too in case you need some...Where abouts does he plan to go to?
The 3/4 ton axles, you want ones from a 67-72 or will a 14 bolt from a 70s work? I know of a 14 bolt from a 1 ton (wont have to move perches to install in 67-72) You need anything else

Re: 1968 swb 4x4 project truck need to sell asap!(CHEAP)

Dustin

i have 3-4 different beds that i would consider selling one of them with this truck prices would be as low as $500 and no higher than $1000.

i've never checked the ratios in the truck but i'm sure they're 4.56s the blazer axles came from southern parts he may know what they are it was a 72 350/205 blazer

the later model 465/205 would be fine with me

i think my friend is going to southern indiana i'll ask him what town next time i talk to him

i really was'nt looking for axles in particular, but would do some trading on 67-72 style stuff or a rolling 3/4 ton 4x4 frame

other things i need??? hmmm how about a dana 60 front for DRW

thanks Mike

Re: 1968 swb 4x4 project truck need to sell asap!(CHEAP)

I've got parts and access to many more...A few towns over, there is a 71-72 k20 sitting at a house.I never asked the owner if he'd sell, because I really dont want it,but it may be worth a try if you want another k20...I want the front bumper brackets though

Re: 1968 swb 4x4 project truck need to sell asap!(CHEAP)

Mike,I bought the blazer and promised it would be the last one...for a few months If you're interested in the 4wd,I might be able to get it bolted back together and not just mocked up.Maybe put on a matching colors body so it doesnt look so bad.Maybe get the tranny/t-case bolted in and the driveshafts hooked up

Re: 1968 swb 4x4 project truck need to sell asap!(CHEAP)

The chassis with front and rear 1/2 ton axles,465/Rockwell t-case and front and rear driveshafts and all crossmembers minus motor crossmember..I'd probably take $300-400 for it..I'm removing the lift from it for the blazer though.
