Info on 1967 GMC
I'd like to have many information on a 1967 models and resto tips. Are you able to decode this canadian truck VIN C9S1471102911? Why in any catalog the stepside rear fender are available for 68-72 truck but not for 67? What is the difference? If I Have found rust in the cab just over the windshield(water from the gutter,it is possible to repair it? If I change the cab and I like to keep the Vin number, where it's possible to found this rivet or it's regular rivet use to fix VIN plate?
Thank's for all your answer, François C9S1471102911 C = Conventional cab 9 = built in Canada S = 6 cyl 1= 1/2 ton 4 = pickup box model 7 = 1967 year 1 = Oshawa Canada assembly plant the rest is sequence number off the assembly line. Last edited by Rod; 08-30-2007 at 12:42 AM. |

Re: Info on 1967 GMC
Ok...
The only difference in a`67 Stepside fender and the rest is there`s no side marker light.I guess they figure you can modify the`68-ups.We`d like to see`67s made.It was the same for front fenders when fenders were first reproduced. But,all trucks have front fenders. Some had Fleetsides and some had Stepsides. The header panels are made to fix that rust over the windshield. In the meantime, chip all that dryed seam sealer out of the gutter, strip, clean, treat rust, prime.apply new seam sealer, and paint.

Yeah since you live in canada and your truck is most likely a canada born and sold truck you can get a really cool restoration packet from GMC

Re: Info on 1967 GMC
actually, he may not be able to get one... in the US, you can't get a GMC packet, only chevy... I am unaware of GMC giving them up north too. With a chevy VIN, he'd get vehicle specific info, but with a GMC, probably nothing.

Re: Info on 1967 GMC
I don't have a GMC now but I have to choose from a 1968 3/4 fleetside LWB 307 or 1967 1/2 stepside lwb 250. But when I have my truck I send you all my info. What is your choice between this 2 trucks and why?

Re: Info on 1967 GMC
Both have their advantages/disadvantages. If you plan on using it for work purposes the 3/4 ton would be my choice, for a DD or just general running the 1/2 ton. Which body style do you like? The long steps seem to be an acquired taste.

Re: Info on 1967 GMC
Whoops I was trying to quote the first post but editted the vin decode up in the first post...well its done now, but look at what I changed to decode the vin.
C9S1471102911 C = Conventional cab 9 = built in Canada S = 6 cyl 1= 1/2 ton 4 = pickup box model 7 = 1967 year 1 = Oshawa Canada assembly plant the rest is sequence number off the assembly line. GM Canada still does vintage services restoration packets for a fee. http://www.gmcanada.com/gm/english/s.../parts/vintage which produces basically a build sheet of what the truck was ordered with and a couple pages from a data book, for vehicles only built and sold in Canada.
