Speedometer cable

I've got another question that some may seem is stupid. Where is the correct place on the fire wall that the cable comes through? I just bought my 72 and the guy had done a frame off and lost interest, he smoothed the firewall and left no hole for the speedo cable. I would like to put it back where it is suppost to be, anyone have time to snap a pic? Please help!

Re: Speedometer cable

I don't have pic handy, but can you look behind the instrument panel where the speedometer cable goes and shoot an imaginary straight line back to the inside of the firewall?

Unless the po finished both sides of the firewall, there should be an indication of a patched hole where the cable used to go.

Strange that he would seal the hole up. I guess he must have figured on using some sort of electronic speed sensor or just went wild and patched every hole he saw up...
