floor pan to rocker?

Can anyone provide pics of how the floor pan connects to the rocker? (62 c10) Mine has new rockers, and some new metal in the floor, but a there's still a gap between the floor pan and the rocker where they didn't finish the job.

Just trying to figure out what it's supposed to look like. Isn't there supposed to be a u-shaped channel along the edge of the floor? Was that a separate piece, or is it all part of the floor pan?

Are you talking about the lip where the rubber door seal attaches to? You either have to replace the rocker, or bend up your own lip, and weld it.

The lip is there as part of the new rocker, but there's about an inch gap between the rocker and the floor pan.

It's kinda hard to say without a pic, but it sounds like someone didn't correctly place the floor pan

Yes it sounds like they aren't installed correct. You should not have a 1" gap betweeen the top of the floor and the bottom of the rocker edge at the lip.
I agree its probably in the floor. It takes a little skill to do body work. I have seen many people attempt it and not get them correct. Some even complain about the fit when it wasn't even installed correct. Anyway if you can post some pics maybe we can see what is wrong.

Re: floor pan to rocker?

Is it rusted threw? If so they make replacements for it.

Floor pan for the front gap and rear outer cab for the back of the gap.

Re: floor pan to rocker?

right, it's rusted. the new rocker has been installed, but there's a gap that hasn't been finished between the rocker and the floor pan. So there's a patch panel for the edge of the floor pan to the rocker? Let me know where I'd find it?

Thanks

Re: floor pan to rocker?

If you are talking about the gap horizontally from the lip to the pan it is normal. While the gap varies a little from truck to truck this is where carpet lays dowin into. Your rear light harness and dome light wires usually run through this channel also. The sill plate lip comes down over the inner edge and covers alot of it.

It looks like your floors may have been glassed to me and may be causing a slightly larger gap.
