Yay Frame is HERE!!!
Just arrived this afternoon! yes, i still have some left. i have to brace and gusset my notch(i know i should have run it vertical, but its all i had access to), finish my hoop for my TA crossmember, finish weld everything, box the control arms, finish notching the upper control arm, and plumb and wire all my air ride, along with other things. anyway, just a few pics.

Re: Yay Frame is HERE!!!
its 2x3x3/16. its too small, but i had already cut the rear off, and 2x4 was 3 weeks out. i just made it work. im thinking im going to re-notch the rear, but its going to be a pain to cut out the whole notch. but now i need the area to do it, i dont think the dealership is going to let me weld and cut on it here.

Re: Yay Frame is HERE!!!
well i decided that im going to redo the rear notch and framerails. i decided this because the notch i made horizontal instead of vertical. also, the rear framerails have a tow hitch welded to it, and some big akward mounts on it. this way, i can do the notch the right way, 2x4x3/16", i can make proper watts link mounts in the frame so they dont look tacky, and i can make the rails house my gas tank and both air tanks without looking funky. im going to try to draw up some plans on paintbrush. until then, here are some pics of the frame, and what im keeping.
4" dropped front framehorns and power steering linkage(gotta finish boxing the frame) im redoing the whole rear notch and framerails. completely rebuilt and 60 over 327. 4" z, flipped notched ECE tranny crossmember(have to finish boxing it in. dad reinstalled it backwards, gotta flip it around, as well as get the tranny rebuilt due to fire damage) (notice the welds i was doing with both flux core and gas, didnt realize i had flux core in it for a bit) (again, have to finish boxing the auto tranny crossmember and flip it back around) |

Re: Yay Frame is HERE!!!
i suppose i could do it outta 1/4, but dont really need it i dont think. im not sure on the watts, i just have one mocked up from speedway motors that i modded. i think im going to make a 1-off diff cover that holds it, otherwise, ill make a bracket that houses the pivot point over the diff, that unbolts for diff access. then im going to mount the end pivots inside the frame, not on little tabs like they are. ill see if i can draw something up in paint. any other ideas, drawings, advice is very very welcome.

Re: Yay Frame is HERE!!!
what the hell caught on fire?
you could also do some 1 1/4 dom tubing w/ tabs at the end to mount to the rear and run a pete and jakes bushing in the center to some sort of custom center bracket.
