Hey thanks for your service. I see you got your location down as Arkansas. Where is the truck at? Maybe someone here in Arkansas could look at it for you and give you a second opinion.

Re: $3500 worth it for this 68 Stepside
I hate to do this to the North-eastern guys but...... You're fron AR, keep looking for something from down south. You'll be $$ ahead 9 times out of 10 vs. a truck that spent time up north.
Sight unseen purchases are pretty risky (even if they are from a board member). One guys impression of "that's all the rust there is" can be completely different than anothers. Wait until you can look the truck over yourself. Save up even more cash in the meantime so you have even more (or better) options when you return. Thanks for your service!

Re: $3500 worth it for this 68 Stepside
Don't get in too much of a hurry to buy one. Especially if you aren't going to get it until you get back anyways. All good things come to those who wait. I too was in a hurry to get one and my wife told me to wait. Not too long after that I found the 68 Short Wide I have now and got it for $700. Granted it did not have an engine, but the $2800 difference would go a long way.
Just wait. One will come along that you can't pass up. |
