auto choke on a 86 b.b.?

posted a question but i screwed it up by posting it on the 73-87 parts board!anyhoo,i was wondering how difficult it is to replace the electric choke assembly on my 454.i got a 86 3/4 ton w/a 2 bbl carb.and it dont like to come to life none too well after sitting for awhile.(w/o all the coughing ,sputtering and wheezing !)gotta keep the rpm's up so it'll get warm, after that it's ok.went to my local napa store to price the electric coil assembly for a b.b.454 on a 86 3/4 ton truck and they gave me a price of 60 some bucks!i was thinking that thje coil assembly on a smlblk. wasn't more than $5.are the b.b. assemblies and smlblk. assemblies that much different?thanks to any and all replies!

I wouldn't think a choke on a bbc would be any different than a sbc. As far as I know a electric choke is a electric choke, at least on Q-jets. I guess it's the same for 2 barrel carbs.
