gear selector pointer Q

Hey guys, i have a question about the gear selector pointer in my truck, the pointer is about a notch off of what gear is selected i.e. when in drive the pointer is still to the left of the neutral letter. Is there any way to adjust this so that they line up correctly?

Any help appreciated
Paul

Re: gear selector pointer Q

you can adjust that at the column under the hood, where the linkage down to the tranny connects, or you can loosen the column under the dash if under the hood doesnt work.but use caution, that could throw your neutral safety switch out of whack

Re: gear selector pointer Q

have you tried bending the linkage a little to off set the pointer?

Hmmm, Seems like you have some adjustment at the trans. Can't you loosen up the nut that holds the linkage on the trans and move it there?
