Rough Country 4" lift install????

I'm installing this 4" lift with rear springs on my 72 K10. The concern I have is the rear springs they provided. The springs have the normal round eyelet where the bushings go and at one end the second leaf goes under the eyelet "cupping" the bottom of the eyelet.

I'm not sure which end this should go on, towards the front or back at the shackle. I've tried installing it on the shackle end. The shackle wont fit it.
It also appears to interfere with the spring bracket on the frame when it pointed towards the front.

Does anyone have pics to share or perhaps I've got the wrong springs?

I have the same lift and can post some pics in a hour or so.My problem was the springs were so arched the shackle was as far down as it could go and then the springs barely fit.Mine still doesnt sit level.Im going to remove the flat helper spring,you might want to also if you think it wont sit level.You will have to wait awhile for the springs to settle before making the decision though.When I first got the rear springs on the truck sat up very high and gradually settled some.

Here is one pic.The bottom where it determines the pinion angle..the thickest part is towards the back.The front is where the leaf comes under the spring eye.

I installed mine the same as you did. My springs are arched alot but my shackle is'nt as straight as yours.
However, the truck does sit to high in the rear. I'd estimate 1" or more.

How long did it take for yours to settle some and was that with a load or empty?

Gary,I put the body back on the truck a few weeks after the lift kit was installed.That helped it settle alot.The shackle has moved back up to where it should be with just a slight angle like this : / But the truck still sits a little higher in the back than the front.The springs did settle alot within a few days while the body was completely off.If I had installed the lift while the truck was together the process of the springs begining to settle probably would have been quicker.

BDS dips their springs in paint after they are made then shipped. The paint makes the springs stick together so you have to bust them loose. Leave the shackles slightly loose and rive across a ditch a few times at 45 degree angles. Flex em real good, then tighten everything up.

I still have the bolts loose so I can try excercising the springs some. Here's a few pic's of the truck as it sits now.

If the assuming the bed is supposed to be close to level; my carpenters level says the rear is 2" high.

If they dont settle I suppose I could remove the overload spring.

Any other ideas?

My BDS is high in the rear. I don't mind..

Mine sits about the same..2" higher in the rear.Removing the overload is good for an inch of drop but the springs will still settle some.
On a side note..Mudder,were you not at Indy yesterday? I looked for you but didnt see you.

yep nice truck.... i had same problem. but i had blocks 4 inch blocks in mine, i just cut the blocks down 1 and a quarter inches. plus i did as mudder suggested ran in awhile to break that paint loose and flex alil. now she sits level. i belive they look so much better level for myself. wouldnt it ride alot better if you did take the overload spring out?
