Question Sorry another engine id thread

Finally got my new motor this weekend the numbers I can see are

rear drivers side
3970014

To the side of that looks like B 1 72

On the passengers side head 629930

Any help is appreciated this should be a 350 I pulled it out of an 80 GMC 1/2 ton just wanted to know exactly what I have.

according to nastyz28.com its a 70-73 350 2 or 4 bolt between 200-300 hp hope this helps.

semper I have same engine 69-79 350 or 68 327 probaly a 350 2 or 4 bolt main between 185 and 370 hp I did a yahoo search for nastyz28 small block engine casting codes -------- engine code breakdown is v=flint engine plant, 0507=may 7th, cmr=can be either 74 350 145 hp 2 bolt main or 78 350 220 hp 4 bolt main

do you know what the numbers by the front of the pass side mean? the V0507CMR I know the V means flint plant...the 05 is may...the 07 is the 7th of may and what's the CMR?

they are on the front pass side...kind of behind the alternator and alternator bracket...don't know if that helps I'll try and get a picture....

ksjh they are on a pad right in front of passenger side head probaly will have to clean there to see if engines dirty or sometimes these numbers get machined off if engine has been rebuilt all this engine code info comes from a website called mortec nastyz28 borrowed info from them thanks for adding link john

Thanks for the help found my info it was V0812TRJ that puts me at 175 hp Is that the total for the engine with factory exaust and th350 set or is that the long block only?
