I made a test rig for my HEI

So I am in the middle of swapping my points for an HEI distributor, and I was having some trouble getting any spark out of the thing. So, I took it all apart and set up a test rig for it. The test rig works great (I guess I just had a loose wire initially), so I took a video of it and put it up on youtube:

I'll probably post again later describing the setup in more detail in case anyone else is interested.

Interesting... Needs better lighting, but it looks like it served your purpose.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to explain what you did and how you did it, in case someone needs to test one out of the engine.

Re: I made a test rig for my HEI

Thanks for posting your info, but me doing anything related to that just wouldn't work. But let us know how you connected everything. I have an HEI distributor that has a bad wire to the pickup coil, that I want to fix for the experience.

Re: I made a test rig for my HEI

This is all you need to test an HEI dist:

Put it next to the dist, and pull the trigger, if the solder gun makes noise (vibrating, etc.) you're pickup coil is gone. If not it's probably the module.
