C-30 rear axle swap

Hey all, just picked up a 68 C-30 with a dump flat bed on it, but it has a slight bend in the rear axle from over loading I guess. Any ideas on what axles would interchange? I have an eaton out of a K-20 laying around here..are they the same? Or is the 1 ton axle heavier? Are newer ones able to be swapped in if I can find one? Thanks for any input on this subject, Gord
P.S. I will be hauling slab wood from a local Amish sawmill for firewood with it so it does get fairly heavy use

Re: C-30 rear axle swap

The 3/4 ton axle will have different spring perch spacing, but they are pretty easy to cut off and weld new ones on. A lot cheaper than buying a whole other used axle assembly. If your existing 3rd isn't messed up, then you can choose which gear ratio you want, if they're different.
