Re: is this a good deal?

I agree, I live maybe an hour from the origional post-er and these trucks are out there, I paid $700 for a near perfect body with ps,pb,a/c cab etc. I dropped a 350 in it and th350 tranny and is a very dependable daily driver. I have maybe 2K in the truck total.

Re: is this a good deal?

I paid 1500.00 for my 71. Short step, power disc brakes & steering, 17 inch wheels with decent tires, new exhaust, all new electrical switches, 350, turbo 350. It had some rust in the cab but could have been a good driver. The one you're looking at seems a little high, but if it's what you want and you're willing to pay the price go for it.

Re: is this a good deal?

hey guys, im sorry if i seemed a little snippy. i was kinda in a bind. the question was for a friend and he was in a rush and was fixing to leave. i was just trying to get some answers fast. so anyway, no he didnt buy it yet. he does sorta have his heart set on it, but you guys have at least made him think a little harder. he's in a bit of a cram with some vehicle problems. but anyway, i just wanted to clear that up. i really didnt mean to be short with you guys. im not sure if he has talked to the guy or not.

Re: is this a good deal?

I just looked at one in Santa Barbara, a '70 stepside, same deal. Body hammered, but "great motor, 700r4, and new brakes, and I just bought a new differential!". $3500. Needs a new front clip, doors, cab dented but not too rusty. No power steering, but power brakes. I'm gonna keep looking.

Re: is this a good deal?

That truck looks like a $250 field bomber to me. I paid $1800 for mine, running, driving, barely any rust. (and by barely I mean BARELY). Then I sold the snowplow off it for $400.
