Parking brake cable?
Hey Folks,
Question on parking brake cables. I have a 63 short bed step side and I need both rear parking brake cables. Trouble is they come in two sizes 80” and 84”. One is for an early 63, and other for a late 63. My problem is I don’t know when my truck was built and I don’t have the old ones to measure. Any ideas? I'm just about ready to take it and have it inspected. I think they’ll want it to have a parking brake. Thanks for the help! Tim |

Re: Parking brake cable?
i would hunt down a vin decoder sight. i know that lmc truck catalogs have a little bit of a vin decoder in the first couple of pages. you can look at one of thier catalogs online at www.lmctruck.com

Re: Parking brake cable?
Well, I tried the vin# decoder it told me what # truck it was, but I don’t know how many they made that year. I was looking through the LMC book and they don’t say anything about a different cable for a early, or late 63 . I got that from Classic Parts. I’m confused?
