...will a 73-87 seat fit in a 67-72? thought they might be to wide... but found a nice one...figure i'd check my resources before buying...

Teh brackets won't go in for crap. Not sure about the seat part.

Someone put one in my C-30 it is a little low in the back but never really paid any attention on how they had it mounted. Would run out and look but it is in the barn for the winter on the farm. Sorry I am not much help!

I have one! Had to make new brackets, front and rear. They are probably 2.5 to 3 inches tall, amde from C channel, and they work just fine. Probably took 2 hours or so, but I know there was a beer break or two in there!

........THANK YOU BUSTERWIVELL !!! the one i found is newly recovered in what looks to be a crushed velvet with vertical pleats in black never been put in truck for $ 180...i cant get one recovered around here for that kind of money..just wanted to make sure it can be done..thanks again...will remember a couple of beer brakes when buildind my brackets...lol

Hey, Moon, that's how I wound up with mine. I had had my original seat recovered for a year or two, and it was fine. My brother in law won a set of seatcovers for the later seat at a car show and gave them to me..........has "the Heartbeat of America" stitched in them........so I talked to the people who gave them to the show.............long story short, they provided the seat (for a fee, I think, of $100) and brought the seat to Goodguys Scottsdale a couple years ago. I had them redo my doorpanels in the same material. Then, my NAPA guy needed a 71-72 seat for his wife's truck (for her birthday, no less!) so I gave it to him. Believe me, he has saved me much more money than the seat was worth! Have fun with the beer breaks,,,,,,eerrrrr seat install!

Ijust did the swap tonight. I used the stock brackets off the original seat and it worked great. I had to modify the seat frome just a tiny bit, but it took less than an hour with no beer breaks. When I put the blazer tank in next week it'll even go back a little further as the tilt levers hit the tank now. Very easy swap though.

I have "heard" that you can bolt a 73-87 bench to the 67-72 tracks. Making it a almost bolt in affair. But, I have never tried it. . .

I thought it sat too low, that's why I made brackets to raise it up.

Too low? Maybe with the 73-87 brackets, but it's the same height as the factory seat when you use the factory brackets and sliders.
