value of truck without the body ?

I am getting ready to take the body off of my 67 1/2 ton longbed and put it on my 72 4x4.The truck has 93,000 original miles with a 283 powerglide, both are in great running condition. Whats this worth as a whole unit or will I need to part it out? What can I expect to get out of the motor, tranny, frame etc. The frame is in great condition, with good trailing arms and overload springs. Thanks for the help. Merry Christmas.. Have a white Christmas, Its snowing like crazy here!

Its probably worth more in parts than whole. Nice to sell it whole though, just roll it out.

A truck is never worth the sum of its parts. Youn get way more money by parting, unless it is rusted bad.

You might be able to get $300 for the entire thing if you can find the right person who needs it. 283's have limited to no value. PG's are ususally swapped out for turbo 350's. If you were closer I would consider it because I have a 67 with a non-stock 250-6 in it and it is really too nice to mess with. Taking it back to "1967" would be worthwhile.

Where is Augusta, MO?

To me, a truck without a body is like a handle without a bucket. Where are you gonna put your stuff?

Seriously, when you say "body", are you counting the front cap, or just the cab? Or, have I answered my own question?

Have you replaced any parts on the frame? It looks like a SWB in that picture, but it is a long bed huh?

I have a 68 swb 4x4 that I just finished painting the frame

Do you have any more photos, I always like to see the progress of hard work

Augusta Mo. is about 40 west of St. Louis,When I say body I mean everything. I bought the 72 and drove it home.It ran and drove great, except the body was shot! It has a 383 stroker motor that I have since rebuilt,The previous owner had owned it for 10 years and put about 100,000 miles on it plowing and towing his boat.,he also replaced or rebuilt almost everything,he spent a lot of money on it,I have all the reciepts.I was originally going to find a cab or body to put on it but decided to use my 67 due to time and money constraints.
