spring length differences

hey fellas, im brainstorming a bit...

could you guys fill me in on the different spring lengths and widths from say the 67-72's through the 88-98's front and rear. I want to change my truck's suspension for better ride and flex and would like to run a longer spring pack both ends but need to know my options. I'll use some of the nifty shackles and hangers from DIY4X4. Those of you who have before and after stories, how do you like the swap? I catch a tread here and there on this subject but i would like the full run down here. the patient is my '71. -steve

Re: spring length differences

Front springs were 44" for pre 73, and 47" after that till 91 when GM dropped that body style. IIRC rears were 52" up to 91, had 56" for 3/4 and 1 tons. In 88 when the new style came out, they were 63" for all trucks. 92 burbs and Tahoes were 54".
