Engine Code Identification Help

The engine markings I can locate in my 1972 K10 Stepside are marked as such: K 02 05 TMM....I have another number located as: T4B513513.

If these were copied correctly from the motor, what type, size and year is this motor? I am unable to locate the exact answer. The T could be Towanda plant? the K maybe another location? The suffix of TMM shows maybe a 1974 or a 1980? I hope someone can point me to the correct size and year of this motor. I currently have a Holley carb with the number 85111-1 and 09111 on the engine and cannot identifiy the carb either. Any help is appreciate for a "newbie" chevy owner.
Thanks

Re: Engine Code Identification Help

This is what I came up with on the vin no. K0205TMM.

K= St. Catherines, Ontario mfg. plant where engine was built
02= February, month of manufacture
05=Day of month, (Feb. 5th) built
TMM= (John has information listed, so I won't repeat).

If your engine has the original manifold on it, then you can probably determine if it is a 74 or 80 as the 74 had a 2 bbl on it and the 80 had a 4bbl on it. The casting date on the back of the engine will tell you, also. I can't help you on the Holley numbers.

Like Jim said, the casting numbers on the bell housing flange(usually on drivers side) might narrow it down for you. Go here to look it up:
