Why can't I just leave well enough alone???

The pictures speak for themselves. I guess I didn't have enough work to do this weekend?

Been wanting to do this for a while now. Not perfect, spray can job with clear, but good enough 'till I get a house & garage and tear her back down...

Sorry the pics suck, I was pulling tape as the sun was going down.

I'm going to seperate the two colors with a dark blue pinstripe.

i like it!

i really dig the white cab, though i'm more partial to the white going onto the door pillars and such, i'll take what i can get.

pretty stellar rattlecan job my friend.

Now I got to get use to seeing your ride this way!

It does look very good! You'll have to do some good shots of the pin stripes. I am still debating on putting the cab moldling on mine, or some sort of stripe.

Re: Why can't I just leave well enough alone???

By pinstriping I mean the autoparts store roll thingy

I wish I was doing something cool.

I wanted to do the whole cab roof, but that would have been A LOT more taping/sanding (like 10 times as much).

The biggest reason I did this was that I messed up the roof last year. I had only one coat of paint on the top of the truck and cut through it with a buffer

Lessons learned. Anyway, the top of my roof looked like crap and this was the easiest fix

Next up is bedliner (wal-mart stuff).

I figure I'll get another 2 -3 years of enjoyment out of the truck as-is, but I REALLY want to do a frame off. I just love workin on the old girl.

Re: Why can't I just leave well enough alone???

your truck has been one of my favorites on here, especially with such an in depth and complete build thread.

and the pin stripe at the color break is a good idea. i like that, and will most likely use it on mine.

oh, and thanks to your sig., i've had a new cell phone ring tone. haha.

Re: Why can't I just leave well enough alone???

I need to update that build thread, I've done a ton of crap to the truck since I last updated it.

I did a bunch of mechanical stuff recently too. New balancer, new starter (soon to have heat shield) new cap, rotor, coil, control module, new 4 core radiator, and new tranny cooler.

I'm pooped

Nope, I keep looking through magazines and parts catalogs for more things/ideas

How about a 2.5/4 drop?

Then I won't have to change the oil anymore, I won't fit under the truck

Re: Why can't I just leave well enough alone???

I need to do something with the roof of my truck as far as painting it. Its kinda wierd though the sheetmetal on the front (other than the rocker panels and a few small dents) is fine. The bed on the other hand has alot of rust chunks in it and dents and other crap.

Anyways, Ive asked myself the "Why cant I just leave well enough alone?" question a time or two myself but hey, your never done especially when your like me and just itching to do something with the truck.

Re: Why can't I just leave well enough alone???

Snapped a couple of pics after lunch.

Not perfect, but I like it.

Good enough for now.
