when to c-notch

i was wondering how low i could go without cnotchin the rear, i only plan on running 17's and dont want it to sit on the ground either, dont plan on bagging it, just wondered if i do a 5" drop if it'll be to much? an also whats the best way or kit to use. oh this is on a 67 shortbox fleetside

IMO 5 inches is pushing it ..im guessing you have trailing arms? i did 5 inch rear coils....and could use a c notch(its on the list) , it hits the bumpstops everynow and then.. check with one of the site vendors.. i got everything front and rear from GMC paul... one thing also to consider is an adjustable pan hard bar, but i think your safe at anything 5 and under ? i think if you go lower than 5 youll need one...hope this helps......tony

I have a 5" drop and I've never hit the bumpstops, but I don't ever tow/haul anything. You'll definitely need an adjustable panhard bar w/ a 5" drop. The rear deflects from center quite a bit w/out it. I think they recommend a panhard for any drop of 3" or more, but I can't recall. You shouldn't need a notch w/ a 5". There are guys on here running a 6" rear drop w/ no notch.

alright good deal, i figured i might be safe but i'm not sure if i will actually go 5 inches or not, the truck has a stock 85 truck front suspension under it and i like how the front sits just goin to try and level it all out
