First Question Post - What would you do if you...

had an area of rust on the floorboard to this extent. Not bad at all and only bubbled through the first layer of paint, but since I do not plan on doing a full resto for a few years, I want it sealed. I am also going back to the black rubber mat that this truck had originally. I want to be confident that once I lay the mat down the rust has stopped growing. This is the only rust this truck has, but I want to treat it now (and correctly) so I won't see more in a few years.

POR-15? Eastwood's 3 part frame resto system? Any help would be appreciated. Sorry, it may be a no brainer question, but I wanted to ask the experts.

Thank you!!

Wire wheel the heck out of it and do the POR-15.

ospho will take care of the rust and prevent future rust, then you can seal it with something like por-15

I'd grind it all down, paint, rust, all of it, and go with POR.

72army it,s just another one of the prolific anti-rust/rust preventive companies out there. You can get a sample package with their 3 step process for like $18.00 plus $8.00 shipping. It covers @ 12.5 sq/ft. I've used it and it holds up pretty good.

Re: First Question Post - What would you do if you...

Treat the metal with a phosphate conversion coating to kill any live rust and prime and paint. That floor is boiler plate compared to some.
