brake booster question
I am getting ready to clean up my brake booster for the orange and white and I noticed the push rod coming out the front was crooked. I was able to pullit and the gasket out the front with little effort. My question is should it have done that? Which I think the answer is no. And if so should I glue the gasket back in place where it belongs. Also what would be a good grease to use to lube the rod. As it has some grease on it from the factory but looks pretty dried out. Thinking of using some disk brake caliper pin grease. Thanks.

Re: brake booster question
I can't answer your question, but that thing looks like it's pretty old and rusty. I bought a new one for my '69 the first week I had it. I'm somewhat bothered by little things, like brakes going out on me.I would replace it.

Re: brake booster question
It has been replaced once and was working fine when I tore the truck apart. I will spend the $100 on a rebuilt one if I have to but if it can be fixed cheap I will. Plus if it fails I just wont have power brakes but I will still be able to stop.

Re: brake booster question
I've done it to mine several times with no problems. You don't have to glue the gasket, it's more a dust cover than anything else.
