WTB - Adjustable booster pushrod

I need the rod that goes between the master cylinder and the booster that is adjustable. It must be the longer rod for the deep master cylinder. Anybody got one from a dead booster?

Thanks

Jeff

Never knew there were more then one length```that could explain a lot of the trouble I have been having. Doesn't the thing adjust to whatever length it needs to go to by just lengthing it?

Re: WTB - Adjustable booster pushrod

I don't think that one is adjustable. I've never adjusted that one personally.

Re: WTB - Adjustable booster pushrod

Yes, the one between the master cylinder and booster has a nut that can be adjust in or out to get the play out ON ORIGINAL BOOSTERS! My brake problems (just like yours Huck) started over a year ago when I replaced my brake booster with a new one from Oreilly auto. I have found out now (after talking to a guy at Midas) that there should be 1/64th" play, I have over 3/8" He explained that the aftermarket boosters have a non adjustable pin and that they always remove it and replace it with the one from the original booster when they do the swap. If the rod is to long, your brakes drag, to short and you don't get a full stroke and your brake warning light will come on. If you search this site you will find pics of the 2 different lengths of rods, I need the long one that is adjustable from anything 71 or lower.
I know I asked awhile back about how to adjust that rod and Longhorn man said he simply lossened the bolts, pulled the master cylinder back and adjusted the acorn nut. I don't have the nut to adjust and then realized I had way to much play!
If anyone has an old booster lying around, pull the pin and take a peak. There are pics of this that I have seen before but I can't find them right now.

thanks

Jeff

This site has a little info about the pin/adjustment.

Re: WTB - Adjustable booster pushrod

Here is a pic of the booster rod that is adjustable (from another post). From what I understand the adjustable rods were used with the bendix boosters and the delco moraine boosters we not adjustable.
