EGR manifold?
I just bought a Edelbrock performer 3701 manifold with EGR. my question is, can I just get a block off plate and use it on my trucK? Or would I have to do something about the little holes in the bottom of the plenum too. It seems like if that got a little bit of gas down in there it could make a pretty good backfire.

I don't know if they make a block plate, but I made one out of 1/2" aluminum when I was in Japan. The manifold for my 55 warped and the only thing readily available was a sogger from a mid 70's Camaro. I ran it for 3 years and the guy I sold it to was running it two years after that. Just traced the EGR base on to the aluminum stock and cut away. Little gaste material and it worked great. I used the 1/2" because it was the same thickness as the base of the EGR valave and I could reuse those bolts without them bottoming out. It worked fine for me. Don't know wether it's "supposed" to or not. I either didn't know enough (probably) or someone told me that I didn't have to worry about anthing else.

Cool, the manifold is a fairly new one, and it was only $25. Unless anyone knows anything different, I will go ahead and try it.

The performer comes with a block off plate...don't see why it wouldn't work on your new one.

so those holes in the bottom don't hurt anything? Also, where do you get the block off plate? I have never seen one.

All I know is my old performer came with one. I'm sure if you looked on Eldebrocks site...they probably have on listed there.
