Lowered rearend?
I have a 85 Silverado with the 4" drop leaf springs. Is any way to lower 2" more that wouldn't be expensive? The leaf springs are still in there original spot.
Thanks for any information.

you could do hangers for the front of the spring for real cheap that will drop 1 or 2 inches, or for an even cheaper route...shackles for the back of the spring, but you will have to cut your bed crossmember(or whatever its called).
for 6 inches of drop though, you will need a c notch or you will be bottoming out all the time...if that werent the case my truck would be 2 inches lower also

I also have 4" leafs and wanted a tad more drop. I added shackles, which gave me 1-1/4" more. I didn't need to notch the frame, but you will need to notch the bed support a little to keep the shackle from hitting. No big thing though.

you do not need a c-notch for a 6" drop. I have a 5" on my 78 and I am not even close to needing a c-notch. I have been told by many people that they've seen flip kited trucks at shows without notches no prob. Im putting a flip kit on my 79 in about a week and dont plan on installing the c-notch.

Thanks guys for the info. My real project is a 70 Chevy. Although I have gotten side tracked a bit with a Vette my wife and I bought 4 months ago.

Wow. Must be nice to be sidetracked with something like that. If it ends up taking too much of your time, I guess I could take care of it for a little while, since I live so close and all. Although, I would hate for anyone to see it sitting in my drive, you know?
