LS1 motor mount brackets?????
I made my own conversion brackets that are like the s&p style. Question is, the factory three bolt mounts that I took off a 86 350 had a plate between the block and the mount and the mount has a hump that is on the back side of it ( the hump sits inside the plate that is between them). So if I don't use the plate the mount will not sit flush on the brackets I made, if I use the plates will the mounts still bolt into the towers or will they be spaced to wide to get the 2 bolts in? I hope this makes sense

Re: LS1 motor mount brackets?????
I purchase mine from Classic Performance Products. They have a slot cut into them that the raised rib on the mount sits in. I dont know what needs to be done to the S & P mounts.

Re: LS1 motor mount brackets?????
I guess it is going to be trial and error. I will try it with the plates and if it wont work I will cut my plates so it will sit in there flush.

Re: LS1 motor mount brackets?????
I'm really curious to see what you end up with. There are three different mounts for our trucks - BBC, SBC and inline 6. I think they are all distinct. There is a thread here which explains how to convert one of those into GenIII mounts (i think the SBC mounts are the ones). The article is in the FAQ i think - and I believe the poster's name was 'rolphe1' or something similar that started with an R.
The GenIII ECE mounts I used look like 78-87 engine mounts (or 73-77?) that just have the top half of a F-Body mount bolted onto them. You could probably make the same mount for around $100. I really wish someone here had a definitive answer...but ...

Re: LS1 motor mount brackets?????
I am using the mounts and towers off a 85 or 86 2wd truck. I will let you know if they work.

Re: LS1 motor mount brackets?????
The mount plates I purchased came with the rubber mounts with the rib, but I wanted the poly mounts & they have no rib. Not sure if this will answer your first question, but hope it helps.

Re: LS1 motor mount brackets?????
I'm using the S&P mounts and mine don't have the slot in them. They bolt flat with a bolt going through the tower into the mount very similiar to the picture above on the left (gold anadized).
I know there is a difference between the 4x4 mounts and the 2x4 mounts so the way mine mount may not be applicable. Good thing I went out and looked because mine was loose. Bill

Re: LS1 motor mount brackets?????
I ended up using the stock 67 mounts. The towers off the 85 would not work so I used what I had. I got the motor and trans in and about 75% wired up. Maybe it will run by this time next week.

Re: LS1 motor mount brackets?????
Man, classic performance needs to update that page, it's pretty dated and single-sighted at this point.
