WIW 72 swb 4x4 frame/running gear?

Hypotheticaly what's a swb 4x4 frame worth? Not what you would like to see em bring, or how much you've low balled people for, what are they actually bringing? I'm not talking about one that's rough rusty and ,missing pieces. We're talking about straight and solid with no cracks or welded up places, already cleaned up and painted. Now, hypothetically is it worth more with a suspension lift or should that be parted seperately? Of course I'm sure that all depends on if this hypothetical buyer wants the lift. OK now lets throw in a 3sp manual trans 205 transfer case and driveshafts. Again I guess this depends on if the buyer wants these pieces. Gotta finish it up with a 12 bolt rear and a Dana 44, nothing special just 3.08 gears. Would all these pieces be worth more parted out a piece here and there or with a crusty ol body thrown on it and some kind of engine to make it roll? I presently have nothing for sale at this point I'm just rolling things around in the ol noggin. No need to PM me asking what it's going to take to buy any of these parts. I'm just puttin feelers out as per my "What's it Worth" title. Thanks guys!

$500-$600 for the frame.Axles might as well be worth the price of an empty housing,no 4wd owner will probably want that high of a gear unless they run low profile 31's...Suspension lift kit--Probably worth $300 depending on brand.3 spd manual 4wd--not many looking for those.I'd sell it as a rolling chassis with lift, drivetrain, driveshafts, crossmembers, etc for $1000-$1250.It would bring more if it had a motor, and even a complete body in ok shape..probably $3000 minimum for a running driving short 4wd..

Re: WIW 72 swb 4x4 frame/running gear?

I almost had a rolling frame for $700.Ended up with a 3spd/307 truck for $1,200.I could care less about the body that was pretty rusty or the motor/trans which had something locked-up.It was a plus to get all the nick-nacks in place, though.I had everyone saying I got a deal.I had it for sale for$1,500 and lots of interest.I decided to keep it.

It may be tough to get 1000.00-1200.00 If you have a poor body to put on it you could get more.

Not really..a factory short 4wd frame alone is worth $500 or so,make it a rolling chassis with drivetrain and a lift and its worth more than a thousand....

Re: WIW 72 swb 4x4 frame/running gear?

The frame is worth more like $700 from what I`ve seen.A crappy body would do nothing fopr the value unless it had alot of other good pieces towards a build.Alot of guys have a truck they want to make a shortbed. If you had a rollong frame with a good bed it could bring as much as $2,000,I think. It would have to be great stuff.Figure at least $1,500 for a good frame and bed,at least.

Around here I wouldn't give over $400 for a really good shortbed frame. That's with nothing on it. I can find newer trucks like 73 and up shortbeds for around $1000 all the time. Running.

I would say with a title 1000 to 1200 with out the title I would say its not worth as much unless you can find some one that has a SWB 4x4 with a bad frame.

Re: WIW 72 swb 4x4 frame/running gear?

Also, nothing wrong with 3.08s on a mostly on road truck. It`s prefered these days on hard top.My`90 Blazer had that ratio,as most later ones did.It ran fine with 12.50/33s.It was like having o/d compared to my other trucks. The TBI 350 had plenty of bottom end torque to get it launched just fine. There`s lo-4 for offroad.

Re: WIW 72 swb 4x4 frame/running gear?

I just sold a 70 SWB 4x4 frame only, blasted & painted, had pits but no rust through for $700 ( With the vin tage ) Th350 & 205 complete for $400. Diffs between $100-$250 ea depending on gears, possi, & condition.

Re: WIW 72 swb 4x4 frame/running gear?

around here id say 500 600 tops for a rolling frame with trans and transfer, i gave 350 for a complete 3/4lwb. roller.as hard as shortbed bodys are to find these days you may have to find someone who already has one to get top dollar outa it... i agree on the 3.08 gears aint nothing wrong with em....
