Throttle gets stuck when secondaries open, help!
Had a couple scary incidences when i was accelerating to pass someone and then my secondaries opened up. then i take my foot off the gas, but my van is still accelerating fast. had to shift into neutral quickly and turn it off. but then when i turn it back on, its back to normal. what could be wrong with my rochester?

Could be a bit dirty. Maybe try spraying the linkages and inside the barrels down with carb cleaner. I know something similar happened to me with a "sticky" throttle on icy roads - SCARY! Since then I've rebuilt the carb (shiny as new) and all parts move well.

Also if you have Cruise, check the Rod that hooks between the carb and the Servo, i've had this rod bind up on the servo end and keep the throttle linkage stuck at a higher RPM as you described next time it happens give the throttle a fast stab and it should release what ever is binding, worked for me

my truck was trying to do the same, it was cause of the kickdown cable - at WOT two of the plastic parts were getting jammed together, a kick on the gas pedal would always fix it tho
