disc brake conversion

i have a 70. what's your guy's opinion that may run the bigger style wheels. Does the front disc conversion seem to be working good. Are you better to switch to a 71/71 front end or maybe keep the 6 lug and have more wheel options. thanks

Re: disc brake conversion

Rather than start a new thread I'll piggy back on this one --

What fits what?

I have a 68 C-20 and want to put disks on it. I asked the question on the suspension thread and got crickets...

I want to stay with 8 lug wheels and hope to buy parts off of (or a parts truck) to donate what I need... so -- what 8 lug disc setups can I bolt up to my truck?

Re: disc brake conversion

Call Early Classic Enterprises, or visit on-line. They did a conversion from an 8-lug, so they may know what you need to know. I think it comes down to what will fit the spindles you have, or which spindles you need to use. With a '70, I'm gonna guess you should use a '71-72 spindle and components.
