Haven't been here for a long time!!!

Hey all, I just thought I would update everyone with what's been happening since I was here last. First and most important; I am a first time father at 40! My son was born last Monday night and he and mom are doing fine . I bought my dream car about this time last year, and I've done a lot of work to it. It's a 1977 Pontiac Can Am . Only 1377 were made, and now I have one. I wanted to take it to the 30th Anniversary reunion in Tulsa, OK; and I had to work my but off to get it ready. I made it and had a great time . My truck....well I don't drive it much, but still love it. I've done a few things to it....1. I installed a furd f250 third brake/cargo light and it works fine (I hope to have a write up on it oneday) 2. I installed an rearview mirror from a olds bravada; it has the compass and under lights. 3. I have installed dual lighted mirror sunvisors from a caddy. 4. I installed my new dash pad, but not too happy with it. It's the rubbery kind that will never crack, but it dosen't fit like the original hard dash. With the dash, I finally installed my new dash bezel and pass side silverado strip. That looks great! 5.I pulled off my 81-82 front bumper with the driving lights mounted in the signal holes. I just didn't like how the fit ......might try again later. 6. and finally, I installed a new slider rear window. I think that is all........ I hope to stay intouch more often, this time. David

Here are some pics I took today. I love my truck, but it just needs everything and all I can do is one thing at a time. So it should be done in 5 or 10 years!! David

Wow, I haven't seen a Can-Am since I was a kid in the 80s. Looks good.

Congrats on being a new dad. Good luck getting some sleep. Nice picture of the kid, too. He looks like he's kicked back and ready for whatever, doesn't he?

Re: Haven't been here for a long time!!!

Congrats on being a dad! Dig the truck and that Can-Am is awesome. I don't know much about them but they look cool. I have four kids and I've found they can't all fit into my '78 Bonanza. I'm looking at fabbing my own rumble seat set-up in the box to accomodate them all or else the truck will be just for me and mama on those rare occasions when we get a sitter.
