70 to 67 grill swap
alright guys. Help solve a dispute between a friend and me. He has a 70, and want to put the 67 grille on it. I say he has to swap the whole dog house, while he says it's merely a different grille shell. who's right and what all is involved?

Re: 70 to 67 grill swap
'69 - '72 fender have an indention for the grill on the front. '68 - '69 fenders are smooth on the front. The the hood and radiator support is also different. The first pic below is a '69 - '72 fender and the second is a '67 fender.

It's a sign, Andy! You need to put the Chevy front end back on your Longhorn!!!

Re: 70 to 67 grill swap
Yup let him do it his way and then he will realize that he needs two new fenders, core support and hood and he will come to the board lookin for those parts.

Re: 70 to 67 grill swap
I'll be the one searching for the parts, so this forum will obviously be my first resource. Where's the best place to get a repop front clip?
thanks for the replies. |

Re: 70 to 67 grill swap
Repop would be big $$$ and you would have to buy it a piece at a time, I'd look for an original in good shape, or even a parts truck, you could get a longbed pretty reasonable.
Good luck, Rg

He's in michigan, the wheel openings go all the way up to the hood up there on old trucks.

Re: 70 to 67 grill swap
I say just keep the 70 front end on it and just slap on a 67 hood!
