Who in here runs a fiberglass hood?

Im in need of a hood, and want to go fiberglass. Anyone in here run fiberglass hood? Any recommendations. I found one that has latches and what not, really good price buy have no idea on how well it will hold up.

Pics? Anything?

east coast customs builds a nice 69 to 72 hood!

So Far my best Times are:

Motor only:
6.44 1/8 @ 104.13
10.39 1/4 @ 125.83

Nitrous Times:
5.785 1/8 @ 118.65 with a 1.336 60ft
9.168 1/4 @ 142.58 with a 250 shot dead out of the hole!

I dont need to know where to get them, i need to know how they are. They crack easily? Distort from heat? Reliable?

Do a search for member Mike Nutt and his build thread. He used a glass hood on his truck, and it looks awesome!

I will never buy another one after the one on my truck warped and looks like sh!t now. Metals the only way to go for a none racer.
Just my 2 cents.
Well i should add that my hood never warped tell i pulled my 30 foot camper a 1000 miles i guess the heat was to much.

here's a couple of pics of mine. it's came from eastcoast custom , but i bought it used from djracer (kevin).it is a great quality product. no cracks so far .i did have to change hood springs though , i used stock '68 camero hood springs,

Id love to slap some fiberglass pannels and a hood up front for weight...

Anyone know how much lighter the fiberglass would be over the steel pannels?

Street weight glass is still heavy! The race weight stuff I run is light. But the company went out of business!

Half of knowing how good they are does sometimes depend on where you get it. There is a HUGE difference in quality between certain brands. Ive had good ones & some real crap...
