how does she hook up?
i wont be able to get out to the track this summer, and just got my truck all finished, the motor dynoed out at about 450hp at the crank.
how do you guys hook up at the drag strip with stock coil overs and trailing arms? one of my buddy's says these things dont hook at all, but those trailing arms sorta look like HUGE ladder bars to me. what can i expect? what sort of mods can i make to hook better, without blowing the budget? any secrets to lauching at the strip?

I'm curious as well. I suppose you could move the gas tank and the battery to the rear of the bed which would help with weight distribution.

Use shims to adjust the pinion angle for better bite.
Use an airbag in one of the coils for tuning the launch. Poly or solid bushings in the front of the trailing arms. Reinforce the trailing arms (plates or 1.5" beads of weld every 6~8"). Adjustable shocks. Big diet up front (lose as much unecessary weight as possible). Mini-tub or full tub for more rubber. Don't be cheap when buying rubber. This should get you started. I've seen trailing arm trucks that could pull 1.6X 60ft. times. While 1.60's aren't incredible..... it's not too shabby either.
