Re: What did you get done this weekend?

I finally got my new 2003 wheels mounted on the truck without doing any mods.

I even got the center caps on the rear by stacking lug nuts.

Now I have to get rid of the old ones.

Re: What did you get done this weekend?

Four years ago in a moment of stupidity I sold my owned since brand new 1995 Z28 convertible. 406 cubes with a set of Lingenfelter heads. Luckily I made the guy I sold it to promise if he ever decided to sell it he had to call me first.

How lucky do I feel he called ? - Real Lucky - I'll never make that mistake again.

Re: What did you get done this weekend?

Gathered the accumulation of parts together and put them in less than 40 different places. Okay, two. Gotta do an inventory before it goes under the knife in October. Not gonna cut anything, just give it a makeover.

Oh, put up some stuff for my wife, mowed the yard, worked on the next-dor ladies' mower, watched the grandson play football and then spend the night....just general stuff.

Re: What did you get done this weekend?

Better than last weekend when I flipped my racecar...numberous times. I sat around recovering from what the Dr. called a torn meniscus and Lateral Collateral Ligament. (lateral collateral has to be the coolest ligament in the whole body just because of the name)

Re: What did you get done this weekend?

I got the dash cut out for the glove box, I sure hope it is right!!! I also got the top and bottom edges of the door milled flat this morning, and now I'm just waiting for the 1/8" ball mill to get here so I can cut the grooves in the front of the door. I got started on the frame work that will attach to the back side of the dash to give the sheetmetal rigidity as well as a place to attach the hinge, the catch and the glove box itself.

I also finished welding up the perimeter of the dash itself, along with the new piece along the bottom.

That is a SWEET ragtop!

Is that a recent pic? He took real good care of it!

My uncle had a red 95 Z28 he bought brand new and sold it back in 99. He still kicks himself every now and again for it.

Re: What did you get done this weekend?

From personal experience, people from Craigslist are flakes 90% of the time...I sold a 94 truck front clip 3 wks ago. Buyer took the grille and left $200 deposit. He agreed to come Sat , 8-8:30am, showed up 10:15, no phone call. So I called his cell, got his voice mail. So I left. I had gone down the road to buy a tire for a trailer spare and my wife called and said he was there. Turned around since I knew he had cash HAHA I wanted to go pick up the rolling chassis before it got too hot WRONG! It took him nearly an hour to pull the hood (!) so I had to step in. He and his cousin had a crescent wrench and a bad set of Walmart starter tools, so I broke out the air tools and proceeded to blow ther minds. I can take stuff apart QUICK. I had the whole clip off in about 30 minutes. I had to take it apart so that he could haul it in the back of his truck because of a ladder rack ARGH!

FINALLY left around 1pm after a quick lunch, left to pick up my latest purchase Sat afternoon about 1 1/2 hrs away (South of Austin, I live NW of Austin)

72 C10 SWB rolling chassis
pretty good SWB fleet bed pass side perfect, no rust anywhere, driver side top rear corner bent from wreck original green paint
patch panel if I need it for DS of fleet bed
72 Cheyenne Super tailgate one dent i top, all chrome CHEVROLET letters ther, chrome handle cover, center section behind letters good, top piece on both sides of handle bent
72 Chev hood (supports rusted in a couple of places but top is perfect )and cowl panel (perfect)
72 sliding rear window
2 80's rally wheels
4 80's "turbine" mag wheels, 2 on truck, 2 loose, nice shape but unilug
Original style wiper arms and blade holders
3 pcs Cheyenne pedal trim
2 Cheyenne rear sid markers
2 72 parking light housings and lenses
all for $350

I forgot my come along and seller said I could borrow his to load the chassis. I proceeded to hit myself in the bridge of the nose with seller's come-along because I was lifting it up over my head to clear his his tailgate ( couldn't lower it because latch was stuck) and wasn't paying attention, the handle was missing the plastic grip and it swung down and got me when I lifted it over the tailgate. It cut it open pretty good. No stitches, luckily, but bled like a stuck hog. My neck hurts more than anything from jerking my head back when I got hit. DUMB ASS!!!

I got home in time to watch last half of UT route of RICE, drank several beers, took a shower, went to bed.

Sun went to San Antonio to see wifes dad. He just got out of the hospital after a blood clot in his leg. Got stuck in traffic on I-35 for 1 hr, never did see the wreck...
