Odd marking on T-350 ?
This tranny/np205 supposedly was removed from a 72 Jimmy...can anyone id these markings

That almoust looks like an old Rockwell transfer case. I use to have one in my 68 and swapped it out for a 205.

You think that is odd...mine has an identity crisis...it says C4 on the bellhousing. (ford tranny designation for those of you NOT in the know)

Thats funny cause i pulled my th350-205 combo outta my 72 blazer and it had a L cast in the same place on the tranny housing...

RPO codes (regular production option) were sometimes cast into the bellhousing. My TH350 book doesn't list "7J" though. It says 69-72 models had a code stamped into the 1-2 accumulator cover or the vertical surface of the oil pan. For example, mine is Y9H20D, which decodes to: Y=Toledo plant, 9=1969, H=June, 20=20th day, D=day shift. The book also says the Vehicle ID number (VIN) is sometimes stamped into the passenger side of the case just above the oil pan flange near the converter.
