Re: Drag Racers! what rear suspension you running?
I run a 4-link rear in my truck with coil overs. I've ran a 10.77 with a 1.56 60' at 3975'DA. I had a few 1.52 60' the one weekend and likely would of had a low 10.7 to a high 10.6 with the good air, but was bracket racing with a high dial in and had to get on the brakes hard at the end.

Re: Drag Racers! what rear suspension you running?
Bars are about 2 1/2 feet long, it's not c-notched now, but will likely have the frame rails kicked up when I go to a narrowed 9" rear this spring.

Re: Drag Racers! what rear suspension you running?
Trailing arms baby! I have been 9.39 @ 133(with only 6 seconds of nitrous)! Looking to go in the eights by the end of the year. My truck has coilover shocks and an antiroll bar. My frame is c notched but its just to make it sit low!

Re: Drag Racers! what rear suspension you running?
stock mostly. it actually sounds bad but its working. still got the original bushings in the trailing arms and panhard bar, stock old springs, only change is lakewood drag shocks. 6 lug truck rear with 4:88's and a spool. 1.6 60ft times, 11.91 best in the 1/4, pullin' the left front about 6" every pass. Re: Drag Racers! what rear suspension you running?
all my pics are at my parents on discs, sorry. i went on a parts website to find the stock length rear shock for our trucks then went on the lakewood site and found the closest thing with eye to eye. however the closest thing was longer so i swapped the shock brackets from left to right which moves the mount lower allowing for the longer shock (some simple mods are required, cut the lip and flatten it, you'll see if you try it) fronts are closest available but were eye to stud, made an eyelet from pipe and took barstock and drilled and tapped it, welded them together = eye to eye. Re: Drag Racers! what rear suspension you running?
I've got the stock trailing arms, rancho 9 way adjustable shocks and mickey drag radials .It hooks good now but I'm going to put a looser converter in it and change the 3.73s to 4.10s I'm stuck at 14.00 and its making me nuts ..I hope it will still hook with the new converter and gears........You know as I type this I start to understand how crazy this dragracing makes ya. I'm in the middle of putting together my 69 rs camaro thats going to be a low 9sec street car. And I'm still playing with this truck..crazy.....

Re: Drag Racers! what rear suspension you running?
This is a pic of my family's '67 back in 1992 about to leave the line (we are currently restoring it). It has run 10.60 with stock trailing arms (front mount moved down 4 inches), a stock Camaro width 12 bolt and wore out (read:Soft) coil springs, stock shocks, and a 32x14x15 slick.

Re: Drag Racers! what rear suspension you running?
NICE! looks like stock isnt a bad idea, everyone else who linked it good job!
nitrofn: I cant wait to see the finished truck and hear how it does on the track djracer: along the lines of tom's question, do you have another shot of your rear to show the antiroll bar and its links better?

Re: Drag Racers! what rear suspension you running?
in my GMC, I am running leaf springs with 1 leaf removed to lower it. Well when I finally got some traction (street tires) it wheel hopped so bad that it completely sheared off one "knob" of a u-joint.
my 68 chevy that I'm shooting for mid 12s in, I'm planning on running trailing arms, hopefully with some type of drag shocks (if I can find some that will work with air bags) as well as a camaro rear sway bar. |
