tilt column disassembly?
I'm going to take apart a tilt column and I know there was a post on how to take one apart but dang If I can find the post? Any of you guys know how or know where the post here is? Thanks Rick

^I tried using that, and I still can't get mine apart. It's been in my "parts closet" for almost a year now.

I can relate...about 10+ years ago, I tore into a tilt column...had never been into a regular column, much less a tilt...ended up dropping a single ball bearing and never could find it, so the tilt still sits torn apart...!

What I'm doing is replacing the bottom tube that was bent at the bottom. So I would like to totally take the tilt apart and paint it and clean and replace anything that needs to be replaced and ofcourse modify it to fit my 72 truck.

Thanks for the ref. pic, its a start. I want to replace my bowl, my tilt has an auto shifter and I want to replace it with a 4 speed bowl. Looks like I will have to take the whole thing apart to replace it... J.
