fuel tank relocate

Thinking about moving the tank from behind the seat to under the bed. Where do I get the best kit. Thanks.

Re: fuel tank relocate

67 cst swb, it's sort of small but nice looking tank. Bout how far can you drive before having to fill it up? I figure in my truck at 14 mpg highway, I wouldn't be able to go too far.

Can you post a pic from the back to see how it sits on the frame? Thanks.

Re: fuel tank relocate

it's 14 gallon...
I've not mounted it yet. I was given this tank for free. It only has about an inch or 2 on each side (I held it in place to see fit)
My truck is really only going to be driven locally, if any distance at all, It would be to Denver (400 miles or so) So, I just know I gotta get gas a couple times on the way. Way worth it to me when I get the tank for free.
I think this tank would be more for a drag race/local cruiser type vehicle.

Also, if you see the dark spot behind the filler neck. Thats a oblong hole all the way thru the tank. That's what puts the gallons down to 14.
Also If your not removing crossmembers, You'd be building a fuel cell pretty close to this size, other than the depth... but I think any deeper would be noticeable from behind. A stock Blazer tank measures 27" x 17" x 13" deep. It's 21 gallon.

Re: fuel tank relocate

I went through the same issue about 2 months ago. I went with a tank from fuelcellguy. That is 100% who I would recommend. If you want a good looking under the bed tank, he is the cheapest with the best possible fit. I looked at Early Classics and some other ones, and the prices were very high. ECE was even a 8-10 week wait for a tank that would cost almost double what I paid through fuelcellguy.
