Re: Headlights

Pull up to a wall of some sort and turn your lights on. Whip out your trusty phillips head screw driver and turn the adjustment screws located at the top and side of your headlights. Adjust them till they are straight and level. The wall is to see where they are aiming.

Re: Headlights

I adjust so that the hot spot of the low beams are just slightly down from level. When you think you are close, try one or both of these after dark:

1) Have someone drive your truck towards you while you watch it coming... if one is a bit high, you'll notice it. Works best on a long straight level stretch of road.

2) Have someone follow you in your truck, while you are driving another vehicle. Same as above, check for excessive glare from your truck's lights.

Re: Headlights

I still have a set of headlight aimers from my dads repair shop. They are completely obsolete today, of course.

The stick on the headlights with a suction cup, and there is a bubble level build into them. You adjust the aforementioned screws to arrive at level.

Of course, the wall method works every bit as good, and is a lot less aggravating than trying to make the suction cups stick to the headlights!

Re: Headlights

When you shine the lights to the wall you should be atleast 25 feet away for low beams and 75 feet away for high beams
