Re: TH350 Kick Down Cable
IIRC it goes in the tranny on the passenger side behind the bellhousing and before the dipstick - can't take a pic of it now tho, still (bored) at work, lol

Re: TH350 Kick Down Cable
if you don't have the cable connected now, or a part of another cable, then you will have to pull the oil pan and connect the new cable to the linkage.

Re: TH350 Kick Down Cable
I think he needs a pic from underneath the truck on the tranny itself. Let me go snap a pic real quick, if my batteries are still good that is.

Re: TH350 Kick Down Cable
Best pictures I got. Turns out my truck is too low to crawl completely under it
And the exhaust is too hot right now and Im not about to burn the crap out of my arm to try to get a better one. Last edited by xtreme80; 09-27-2007 at 07:40 PM. |

Re: TH350 Kick Down Cable
As you can see the cable goes in the tranny case just a few inches before and below the cooling lines fittings, it normally goes up behind the engine but mine is disconnected, hence the weird bend towards the frame and away from the engine.

Re: TH350 Kick Down Cable
well if the pan ain't got no drain plug (and most don't) it can get a real messy job, haven't done it to the truck yet but on my Lincoln when I'm about to drop the tranny pan I first disconnect the return line from the ATF cooler up front and let the tranny pump itself dry - there's still some ATF left in the pan afterwards, but still not even close to the ungodly amounts that normally live there - less ATF in pan, less spill on the floor, less complaints from the lady

Re: TH350 Kick Down Cable
There was a picture of that thing inside the tranny somewhere here me thinks, do a search and include all the sub-forums.
