Seat Install Question
Will I have to do anything special besides drilling some holes to put Blazer buckets in my truck? Just wanted to check with the EXPERTS before I started.
Thanks |

On original bucket seat installs there is a doubler or stiffner plate on the under side of the floorboard to give more strength to the floor where you mount the seats. Don't know how many people take the time to fabricate these. But I will when the time comes.

I was able to use a couple of the original holes and used nuts for spacers and grade 8 washers around the holes I had to drill. The truck has been in a wreck so I know it holds. When I change out this seat, I WILL use some sort of reinforcement plate. Good luck.

I originaly saw them on a truck that came with the buckets from the factory, and don't remember if I saw them depicted in the assembly manual where they do show the hole layout. Good luck with your project. I'm at a standstill currently do to the funds going to colleges. For the time being its just a daily driver that I enjoy very much, while collecting small things here and there for future use.

Go on ebay and search under blazer seats. Guy had a pair of brackets that he was trying to sell. They were supposed to allow you to but bucket seats in a truck. Whether they were orginal or not I don't know. Had a good picture of them. Maybe you can tell something from the pic

Wes sells a mount kit for that. I don't know if its particularly necessary, but its there. You will have to drill holes for the inboard side mounts of course, duh. Just thought of that. Come to think of it, if you have the buckets, why do you need the mounts? Now I'm confused. Jeff.
