Re: Looky Looky!

When building my K10 we used the outside edge of one floor and the center of another. By the time the pieces were welded together and then the welds smoothed back out, then working out all the lil dips and dings, an $850 bed floor might have been cheaper. Keep in mind we did this before the interenet was really out there. I just couldn't jump on the ol trusty board and place a WTB for a floor. I also didn't have a source for converting the steel floor to wood (which would have probably cost the same in the long run). So....Yea....if the quality is good it's probably worth that.

Re: Looky Looky!

see ten, i agree, i have a floor i had sand blasted ($50), then metal etch primed it ($50 in material) and i still have to do a small patch, work a few little dings, prime, block, re-prime, it ads up in material and labor. if it is a good, solid, nice fitting piece, it would be worth it IMO.

these trucks don't need vacuum gauges cause they don't suck!

Re: Looky Looky!

Yeah it might be expensive, but for the guy building a show truck, it is cheap compared to making most used floors you find look perfect if you just have to have steel.

Re: Looky Looky!

Give it some time and I'm sure the price will drop quite a bit. I remember when the doors and hoods came out they were a lot more expensive than they are now. I'll give it a year or 2 and I'm getting one. Chris
